A fast reference parser catches explicit citations: “Romans chapter 8 verse 28”, “first Corinthians 13”, “Matt 5:9”. A local semantic engine catches paraphrased scripture: say “wait patiently for the Lord, be brave and courageous” and it surfaces Psalm 27:14, no reference needed.
